  • “Every move counts towards better health” – says WHO

World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that death rates around the world could have been much lower if people practiced physical activity. The new WHO guidelines that were launched due to Covid-19 and the sedentary lifestyle emphasize that any type of physical activity counts.

The new guidelines recommend exercise for all adults, children, the elderly, women during pregnancy and post-partum, and people with disability. WHO statistics state that people don’t practice enough physical activity which leads to high costs in addition to the loss of productivity.  WHO emphasizes the role of physical activity in managing diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, controlling anxiety and depression, and improving brain health and well-being.

WHO indicates the importance for all countries to adopt those guidelines to help decrease the inactivity rate and contribute to improving health and wellbeing.
